4.make no provision for the flesh. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil its lusts.” Romans 13:14

    3. Arm yourself with the word of God. God has given us another weapon to use against Satan. This weapon is the word of God. The bible says

“Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

When the Lord Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He used this weapon to defeat Satan. Three times Satan tempted the Lord Jesus, and three times Jesus answered him with the Word of God.

2..Count on the life of Christ in you. each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.” James 1:14

We have within us something which is always trying to pull us down into sin. The Bible calls it “the law of sin which is in our members.

The law of Christ’s life is to overcome sin. His life always triumphs over sin. And His life in us overcomes the law of sin and death.

    The Bible says,

“The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2

We need to be clear on this point.

TEMPTATION IS NOT SIN. Satan likes to condemn Christians even when they have not sinned. He likes to make them feel guilty for having been tempted by some sin, but it is not a sin to be tempted.

To overcome temptation, you must do four things:

1: count on your death with Christ. We passed out of the kingdom of darkness. We are no longer under the authority of sin. God put us in Christ on the cross. When Christ died, we died with Him; when He was buried, we were buried with Him; when He rose again, we rose again with Him. The Bible says,

Giving thanks to the Father who has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” Colossians 1:12-13

Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:11

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.” Romans 6:12

@ bro saviour, it therefore means our hope and faith must be combine because the Word tells us to Hope in the Lord, the Word tells us God has plans to give us Hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). But nowhere in the Bible does it say that Hope brought on a miracle from the Lord. It wasn’t by Hope that Jesus raised Lazarus from the death. It wasn’t with Hope that Jesus fed the multitude. All those acts were done in Faith.

There are thousands of Believers walking around with their hopes up but ultimately pouring in zero faith when it comes to their prayers.

You have to make sure you aren’t just hopeful. HOPE IN THE LORD! Don’t stop having hope, don’t stop having an optimistic attitude. But don’t stop checking yourself. Make sure what you have is hope and faith combined.

How do you know if you don’t have faith?

Stop and ask yourself, do you truly believe? No matter the circumstances? Or are you just burning gas right now, living on a dream you hope will work out someday, but you don’t really think will happen?

If you can’t honestly see yourself accomplishing your dream, then you won’t accomplish that dream. You must have faith because God doesn’t work with faithless Christians.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6 NIV.

So, what do you do if you realize you have hope but no faith?

As Christians, our words have power! Speak faith into your life and over your situation. Have hope in the Lord. Have faith that He will answer.

Thank you guys so much for reading!
