Trends and You
Women who fall “head over heels” for beards are shallow. Those who are madly in love with well-chiselled biceps and abs are lacking in depth.
Same goes for guys who fall for whatever is the current trend among female folks today( I, honestly, don’t know what they are..???, bush man like me)
Beards-gang is a trend. Six-packs abs is also a trend. Trends always pass away. In case you do not know, this current beard trend started in the late 2005 and it wasn’t until about 6 or 7 years ago that it began to gain traction. Trends will pass and go away. That is why it is called a trend.
It was in vogue some decades ago and it passed. There was a time Afro hairstyle was in Vogue among both genders but no more. There was a time wearing baggy trousers and fled dresses was the new fad. Suddenly, pencil trousers took over and became trendy.
The bottom line is that these trends are superficial, although the people involved in them may appear attractive but this is only for a while. Most importantly, trends only showcase the container and not the content. You have to be shallow-minded not to look beyond the container. When you fall in love with trends, you are in love with the container to the neglect of the content.
Please don’t misunderstand me. I have nothing against trends, provided they are not evil. I am also trendy in my own little way (if you like disagree with me o…) but I choose my trend. I love trendy people. But when engaging people, I do not engage their trends but the stuffs that they are made of.
Trends are fickle. They are fleeting. Before you spell jack-robinson, that trend that you are so fastidious about will get binned and another one will emerge. In my short sojourn on earth, I have witnessed a few trends and it’s amazing how quickly they passed.
Friends, people of depth see beyond trends. They give attention to content. They give attention to virtues and potentials that don’t fade. These things never go out of fashion.
Guys, I love your beards but beards don’t put food on the table unless you are into organised pomp and pageantry shows. Even at that, you have to have content. I love your prominent abdominal muscles but I haven’t come across any job interview where having six-packs is a requirement to be hired. Unless you are into showbiz, do not allow any fleeting pop-culture to take your attention away from more important life issues.
Friends, the time, energy and efforts many put into getting a six-packs abs, if used in a library or in a vocational center, are sufficient to produce enduring results that would outlive a trend.
Guys, don’t let anybody push around anyhow be comfortable with your own skin be proud of you ?? I once had flat tommy and thick muscle but it never give me food
COPIED
